At the 2004 Atchley family reunion at Camp Tyler Texas, I received copies of pictures from Lavinia Atchley. She had been given these pictures by Mark Mullins, husband of Minnie Atchley Mullins. Attached to one tin type picture was the following information: "Picture of Narsisus (Woodard), mother of Mary Alice (Woodard) Payne; Grandmother of Mary Elizabeth (Payne) Johns; great grandmother of Ruby (Johns) Atchley; great, great grandmother of Wilbur Atchley, great, great, great grandmother of Vicki Atchley." [The only Narcissus I have found, so far, would be a cousin to Mary Alice Woodard.]

"I have a Pleasant Woodard from Bowie Co., TX in my line who served in Captain Cameron's Company, Texas Infantry later known as Company H, 9th Kentucky Mounted Infantry and transferred to Company H,15th (also known as 32nd) Texas Calvary. I am not sure if either of his brothers, Robert N. and William Benson, served in the Civil War, but I think some cousins in Anderson Co, TX did serve. One researcher Mark Freeman says that Amanda was born in 1832 to John (ba 1814 in TN) and Sarah Glover (bbef 1816 in AL) Rosser in Sumter Co Alabama. Mar shows the death date for John Rosser as 1859 in Old Salem, Bowie, TX. He also says that John Rosser was the administrator of William Woodard's estate in October 18, 1844. Mark shows the father of John Rosser as Elijah Rosser (b abt 1783 in Smithfield, Johnston, NC) and his mother as Sarah Martin (b abt 1793). He shows the children of Elijah and Sarah as:

John Rosser, was the administrator of William Woodard's estate in Oct., 1844. On Aug. 14, 1845, Sarah Woodard was appointed the guardian of William B. Woodard, Mary Woodard, Robert N. Woodard, Martha J. Woodard, Pleasant Woodard, and Rebecca Woodard for the settlement of William Woodard's estate. They all received their proceeds from the sale of some land William owned by early 1846.
