Leora B Cash

Leora may have married a Brooks later. In Caldwell County deeds I found a transfer of property to heirs at law of Leora C Brooks. It is most probably this Leora, as one of the children is listed as Edgar W and Patricia Parrent. Another child listed in the deed, but not given to us in family info is: Meredith and husband Elbert Duncan.

Woodrow Wilson Parrent, 87, of Eddyville, died Thursday, April 1, 2004, at 12:38 p.m. at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

A member of Eddyville United Methodist Church, Joppa Masonic Lodge #167, Twin Cities Lions Club, the Gideons Association, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and Sunday School teacher for many years, he was a son of the late Linn Boyd and Alvie R. Harris Parrent.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Verda L. Gray Parrent on March 4, 2002; three brothers; and five sisters.

Survivors include a son, Tommy Parrent of Eddyville; a daughter, Bonnie Smith of Murray; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 4, at 2 p.m. at Dunn’s Funeral Home in Eddyville. The Rev. Steve McVay will officiate the service for Mr. Parrent, assisted by the Rev. Bob Bouser.

Burial will follow in Saratoga Cemetery, Lyon Co., Ky.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at the funeral home.

Verda L. Parrent, 82, of Eddyville, died Monday, March 4, 2002, at 12:20 p.m. at Rivers Bend Retirement Community in Kuttawa.

A member of Eddyville United Methodist Church, the Saratoga Homemakers Club and Gideon Auxiliary, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Lennie Vied Gray.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Gray.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Wilson Parrent; a son, Tommy Parrent of Eddyville; a daughter, Bonnie Smith of Murray; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth Ethridge of El Paso, Texas.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 6th, at 1:00 p.m. at Dunn's Funeral Home in Eddyville with the Rev. Bob Bouser and the Rev. Steve McVay officiating.

Burial will follow in Saratoga Cemetery in Lyon County, Ky.
