Could someone please help me. I am trying to find out the county Martin Hall was living in in 1800 in North Carolina. He is not the Wilkes County Martin. He would have been born bet. 1762-1770. He married a Permelia ? and had a brother, Delaney Hall who was killed in Rev. War. Martin received a land grant on service of his brother in 1801 and was in Kentucky by 1812. I would like to know parents, etc., of my Martin. His father could possibly have been a Charles, and maybe brothers James, and Joseph. He could have been in the Newbern District. After searching 35 years have not been able to find out anything about my Martin Hall. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Posted by Jordan Carroll:
My Mother was a Hall before she married Larry Carroll. Her parents were Clifton Hall and Dorothy Stone. She is related to the Hall's by both her father & mother. On grandpa Clifton's side we descend from a James Hall who was born around 1770, was in the 1790 & 1800 Laurens County, SC census, he moved to Caldwell (now Lyon) County where he died about 1827. Grandma Dorothy descends from Martin Hall born about 1765-1770, I believe he was in SC about the same time of James, but I do know that he got a land grant on behalf of his brother Delany's service in NC. He was in NC in 1801 when my Delany Washington was born, and died in Caldwell/Lyon county. I believe Martin & James to be brothers, but really have no proof. They were both in Caldwell county, Kentucky by the year 1810. The names Nancy, Louisa, Elizabeth, Francis Marion, and James run frequent in my family. I think this is very interesting. JordanAlso from Jordan Carroll:
There is enough evidence to say these 3 are brothers. Who were their parents?
James lived in Laurens County SC around 1790-1800. He then moved to Caldwell County KY around 1810. He went back to SC in 1822 to pick up his niece whose Father had died & was living with the evil Step mother.
Martin was born in SC. He received a land grant on behalf of his brother Delaney's service. The grant was in NC. He was there long enough to have a son. He came to Caldwell County probably with James around 1810.
Joseph was born, lived, & died in SC. He had died around 1822. His infant daughter Elizabeth was to go to James. James had to go to Laurens SC to pick up Elizabeth & her inheritance.
Does anyone know anything about their parents or families. If so please respond.
