July Term 1808
In the name of God Amen
I David Freeman being sick and weak in boyd but of sound mind and Memory Calling to mind my mortality and that it is appointed for all Men ?? to die, Do this twentieth day of June In the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and six, make and apoint this my Last Will and testament on the manner and form following. ----1st: I will that all my just debts be honestly paid by my Executors herein after Named. ----- And I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Jean all my personal estate, also my mansion house with all their building (except those occupied by my son James Freeman). I will and bequeath to my sons Michael & Reuben Freeman to each ten shillings. And to my daughters Sarah Bigham, Ann Berryhill and Jemimah Stephenson I will and bequeath to each ten shillings. And to my son James Freeman I will bequeath and ??? the plantation whereon I now live, in the following manner viz. That my wife shall have and possess ?? above ??? also that ?? the said James Freeman shall give to my step daughter Elisabeth Hayes all the land belong to SC(?) Plantation which lies on the North side of the Waggon Road heading from Charlotte to the Tu?kasuge? ford in Cataba or otherwise to pay her eighty dollars or forty pounds on the term of two years after my demise - and a I appoint my son - James Freeman and John Hayes my Exr's and my wife Jean Executrix; of this my last will and testament, Lord I do hereby renounce all former wills and testaments by me made, in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the day and year above writtenSigned sealed ?? and declared by the ?C David Freeman in presence of Moses Hayes
