The parents of Matilda Fowler were both born in SC, per the 1880 Lyon County Census. In the 1880 Lyon County KY census, Matilda was living with her son James M Gray and his family. She was listed as 55 years old and a widow or divorced.

In the county, there were children born to:
Isaac M and Lulia L Hucks Gray;
Isaac and Modena Gore Gray;
I M and Mattie Lady Gray.

I see the following Isaac Gray families:
1910 Lyon Co Census - Isaac Green 40 Gray and wife Rilla 39;
1910 Lyon Co Census - Isaac 33 and Arnettie 31 Gray;
1910 Lyon Co Census - Isaac 32 and Birdie 28 Wilcox Gray;

1910 Lyon Co Census - Isac H 32 and Irena 26 Gray.

After all this, I'm still not certain of the parentage of the Isaac Gray married to Jenetta. The 1900 census puts his birth year close enough to be the son of John P and Matilda, but I still don't have definitive proof.
