Whereas Mordicai Fowler late of Trigg County died possessed of a tract of land herein after described which descended to his children and heirs at law (towit: Thomas Fowler and Matilda Gray wife of John Gray of Lyon Co KY, Isaac Fowler, George Fowler, Josiah T Fowler, John G Fowler, Josiah Fowler and Loftin Fowler of Schuyler County Illinois, William Fowler of Kansas Territory, Jane Lester wife of Wm Lester, Mary Ann Jones wife of Richard Jones and Casandra Fowler of Trigg County Ky and the heirs of Martha Lester deceased of said Trigg County and said heirs by themselves and agents leaving sold said land to said John Gray in consideration of the sum of six hundred and thirty five dollars by note due 1st Feby next to them in hand paid the said paqties before mentioned except said Gray and wife, have bargained and sold and do hereby convey unto said Gray and his heirs [?} twelve undivided thirteenths in and to said land lying in Trigg County aforesaid on the Muddy Fork and Bounded as follows towit: Beginning at a black oak marked J B running thence [???} W [?] to a black oak thence N25 W 200 poles to the beginning, containing by Patush[?] in the name of James Brown dated 16 May 1809 two hundred acres, but supposed to be more, conveyed to Mordecai Fowler by Joshua Cates[?] in 1822 with all and singular the appurtenanced to said undivided interest belonging or in in any wise appertaining unto the said Gray his heirs said to have and to hold forever, the said Fowler's heirs before mentioned hereby covenanting to warrant and defend the same against all claims whatever. In testimony whereof the said Thomas Fowler, Isaac Fowler, Josiah T Fowler and wife, George Fowler, Jane Lester, Wm Lester, Wm Fowler, John G Fowler, Josiah Fowler, Loftin Fowler, Mary Ann Jones, Richard Jones and Casandra Fowler by themselves and agents, and Martha Lester's heirs by William Lester their father do hereto set their hand this 25th day of September 1856. Witness as to Thos. Fowler and as agent for Wm Fowler, William Lester, Isaac Fowler Jr.

Commonwealth of Kentucky Trigg County Sch[?]. I Albert S Dabney clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid do certify that this deed from Isaac Fowler and others to John Gray, was the 28th day of March 1857 acknowledged before me in my office by the grantors. Benjamin Mitchell and Casandra Mitchell his wife to be their act and deed and on the 14th April 1857 in like manner by the granters John G Fowler and Jane Fowler and his wife, and Loftin Fowler by Thomas Fowler their attorney in fact to be their act and deeds and on same day by George Fowler by Wm Lester his attorney in fact and on this day by Matilda Lester to be their act and deeds. Given under my hand this 11th day of December 1857. A S Dabney by R A Burnett D.C.

I Albert S Dabney clerk of the county court for the county aforesaid, do certify that this deed from Isaac Fowler and others to John Gray was the 25th day of September 1856 acknowledged before me in my office by the grantors Isaac and Wm Lester to be their act and deed, that it was proven before me on the 28th day of October 1856 by the oaths of Wm Lester and Isaac Fowler sub[?] being witnessed thereto as to the grantors Thomas Fowler and Wm Fowler by said Thomas Fowler his attorney in fact, on the 28th day of February 1857 it was acknowledged before me in said county by the grantors Josiah Fowler by Wm Lester his attorney in fact to be his act and deed on the 28th day of March 1857 it was acknowledge before me in my office by James Lester, Richard Jones and Mary Ann Jones his wife to be their act and deed, and on the 13th Oct 1857 it was acknowledged before me by the grantors George W Lester and Lucinda Lester his wife, James Lester and Wm Lester Jr to be their act and deed and the same was ordered to be [?]. Whereupon the same with the certificate therein endorsed and this have been admitted to record in my office.
